Rubicon Films (US) and Figaro Films (Poland) in association with the Committee of the Polish Cinematography, Polish Television and Film Studio Wroclaw present:

A film drama based on the play of the same title by the Polish playwright Leon Kruczkowski.
It is a multi-thread saga of a German intellectual family whose members mirror a spectrum of attitudes within the German society towards the Nazi ideology. The film follows Professor Sonnenbruch, his wife Berta, and their grown-up children as they individually face the ethical and moral dilemmas which the war brings upon them.

Directed and produced by Zbigniew Kaminski, screenplay by Zbigniew Kaminski.

Matthew Sullivan (US) - Joachim Peters, Professor's former student,his longtime assistant and friend
Vivian Schilling (US) - Ruth Sonnenbruch, his daughter
Scott Cleverdon (US) - Willi Sonnenbruch, officer SS and his son
Beata Tyszkiewicz (Poland)- his wife Berta ( First Prize for Best Female Supporting Role, Gdynia Film Festival, 1996)
Peter Thoemke (US) - Hoppe , former handyman at Sonnenbruch's household, now a policeman occupied Poland
Mark Folger (US) - Gluck, Nazi Party functionary
Beth Tegarden (US) - Liesel, Professor's daughter in law
